Vis is one of the most remote inhabited Croatian islands. Although the island is slightly windier, due to the open sea, the climate is more pleasant than elsewhere on the Adriatic; in the summer, the temperature is one to two degrees lower and in the winter it is higher. Greek Issa, today Vis, was the first Greek colony on the Adriatic that was founded as early and the 4th century BC. Vis was always known for its vineyards and fishing. The most popular wine of Vis is white wine Vugava, which is characteristic for its golden color and unique fragrance and taste. St. Jerolim (Jere) on a small peninsula, summer homes of aristocrats and traditional architecture make Vis special. Today, Island of Vis is a popular tourist destination. Reason for this are its numerous walking and biking trails, excursion routes (Modra spilja - Blue Cave on Bisevo, Zelena spilja - Green Cave on Ravnik, Queen's Cave near the village of Okljucna), numerous beaches of all types (steep and smooth rocks, pebbles, gravel, sand such as: Stoncica, Milna, Zaglav, Srebrna, Bili Bok, Stiniva, etc), among which anyone can find the one that suits them, even nudists.
