Klek is a village with permanent population of 200. It is located in a beautiful bay, surrounded by the sea and the Adriatic motorway (Split-Dubrovnik). Klek has a rich history and an interesting countryside. On the hill above the village, one can visit the remains of an old fortress that used to provide a view of the entrance to the Bay of Neum. The name of the fortress, Smrden Grad, dates back to the battle against the Turks in which many of them died and were left behind. If we continue further inland, we come to Gradina - a Roman fort. From there, one can see the river delta of Neretva, Peljesac and Ston. Close

to Gradina, there is a necropolis with medieval tombs. Mountain climbers and those who like hiking will certainly like to visit all the sites and enjoy the exquisite nature and magnificent view. In Klek, there is a well preserved tower dating back to Venetian times, known as Nonkovic tower, and the walls dating back to the 17th and 18th Century. Plaza and Klek. The place is dominated by a large pebble beach with various entertainment contents. Nearby, one can also find several tennis courts, miniature golf courts, table tennis, bowling alley and children's playground. Klek is a destination for family vacation and for recreational athletes. The village has several restaurants and stores, post office, exchange office and medical office. The boat "Lipa moja" leaves Klek every day for one-day excursions to various destinations: Mali Ston, Neretva river delta, Peljesac, etc. Klek is located 70km from Dubrovnik and 85km from Dubrovnik airport. Opuzen, Metkovic, Ston, Mljet, Korcula and Makarska are also close by.
