Marcana is an Istrian village northeast of Pula. It is also a municipality that includes 22 villages. Among the better known ones are: Rakalj, Krnica, Mutvoran, Loborika i Duga Uvala. While majority of its residents work in Pula, some are dedicated to farming, mostly for their own needs, trade, mariculture and tourism. Marcana also has a 15th century three-aisled parish Church of St. Peter and Paul with a bell tower from 1846. rock and crystal, Ljubic Cave - cave with a cavern entrance and depth of 30 meters. Remains of ceramics, bones and stone artifacts were found in Ljubic Cave and it was determined that people lived there in Copper and Bronze Ages. Marcana municipality also includes a part of Budava Bay with the fish and mussel farming sites. Marcana coastline is still undiscovered as it plunges deep into the Adriatic Sea. Bays and coves are beautiful but difficult to access. Visitors of Marcana municipality can stay in Duga Uvala resort with hotel Croatia and hostel Cvrcak, or in Krnica in the small family hotel Carmen.

Professional and recreational athletes and guests seeking active vacation can enjoy biking trail Flanatica. The trail starts in Marcana and goes through Krnica (where one can try excellent scampi in Porat) to Rakalj and the Church of St. Agnes (on the cliff with amazing view), through Hrbok and Divsic back to Marcana. The trail is of medium difficulty and is almost 40km long, combining asphalt and macadam parts. The area of Marcana municipality is known for its luxurious weekend homes and vacation villas with swimming pools on green surfaces. Many of these are available to tourists, as well as apartments in family homes.
