Stari Grad is located on the northwest side of the Island of Hvar and it is the largest island port that is connected by direct ferry lines to Ancona, Pescara, Rijeka and Split. The story of Stari Grad, once named Faros, starts in 384 BC when the old Greeks sailed here from the Island of Paros and founded a city. Other than Stari Grad Museum, one can also see 24 centuries of written history, from Antiquity to the Middle Ages and Renaissance, walking around town and its surroundings.
