Sveti Petar is a small tourist resort between Zadar and Biograd. It is a part of Sv. Filip i Jakov municipality. This settlement at the coast of Pasman Canal developed only in the past 100 years, although it was mentioned at the beginning of the 17th century. From 1941 to 1992 it was named Krmcina and in 1992 it was renamed to Sv. Petar na moru. Inhabitants used to be focused on agriculture, mostly olive and vine growing, and recently they started turning toward tourism. The village was named after the 18th century Church of St. Peter.
